I feel it is perhaps better if I just show her, Father, so I open the
carrier on my bed and tap the quilt so he knows it's okay to come out.
It takes him a moment, but he cautiously steps onto the bed sniffing
and looking around, head cocked at an odd angle to compensate for his
missing eye, I suppose. Eventually I sit and he comes right up next to
me, rubbing his head against my leg.
"This is Captain Cat Sparrow. I met him at a cafe that had adoptable
cats all around and I just... I couldn't leave him there. No one
wanted him because of his eye, you see, and... We don't have to
keep him, I just didn't want him to not have somewhere to live. Do
you... mind? Terribly?"
